Windholtz Leads Lions to a 1st Place Finish at Earlham Invitational

RICHMOND, Ind. - This past weekend your Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Richmond Elks Golf Course to compete at the Earlham Invitational. The Lions had a great weekend on the course as Patricia Windholtz led the Lions to their 2nd consecutive victory heading into the HCAC tournament.

Patricia Windholtz led the way for the Lions squad. The Senior posted a 81 in Round 1 followed by another impressive Round 2 shooting a 80. Windholtz led the Lions squad with a 161 for the tournament finishing 1st in the field of play as well. Alyssa Haverstraw also looked dominant for the Lions on the weekend. Haverstraw got started with a 82 in Round 1 followed by a 81 in Round 2. Haverstraw finished 2nd overall with a total of 163.

Amy Smith also was impressive on the week. Smith led the field after the 1st Round finishing with a 80. But, in the 2nd Smith finished with a 85 to give herself a 165 for the tournament, good for 3rd overall. Emma Winland, Taylor Anderson and Alyssa Perry all produced solid weekends as well for The Mount. The trio all shot 170 for the Lions finishing tied for 5th in the field of play.

UP NEXT: Your Mount St. Joseph Lions are back in action this weekend at the HCAC Championships. The Lions will travel to Defiance, Ohio from April 28th-30th. The tournament is scheduled to be played at Moose Landing Country Club.
