ADA, Ohio – On Wednesday, January 3rd your Mount St. Joseph University wrestling team traveled to Ohio Northern to take on the Polar Bears in a Dual Match. The Lions started off strong taking two of the first three matches. But, Ohio Northern answered, building a lead and not letting go. Following all ten matches the Lions fell to the Polar Bears 35-13.
To begin the Dual, Ohio Northern would jump in front to start. The Polar Bears got an early pin taking a 6-0 lead. But, in the 133lb weight class the Lions would answer back.
Desmond Diggs took the mat for the Lions facing a familiar opponent, Dylan Le. Le and Diggs battled almost exactly a month ago at the ONU Invitational where Diggs knocked off Le 4-2 in the Semifinal match. This time around, Diggs would give himself some room for comfort taking down Le via major decision 9-1.

Andrew Magness took the mat for the Lions in the 141lb weight class. Magness worked hard to earn his 10
th victory of the season battling for a 4-2 decision win. After the first three matches, the Lions held a 7-6 lead.
But, the Polar Bears answered winning five straight matches to take a 30-7 lead. In the 197lb weight class the Lions were able to end the streak. Junior
Kaleb Gelter took the mat for the Lions earning the Lions only pin of the night. Gelter needed just under four and a half minutes to secure the victory trimming the Ohio Northern lead to 30-13. After the final match, the Lions fell to the Polar Bears 35-13.

th when the Lions travel to Cleveland, Ohio to compete at the Claude Sharer Duals hosted by Case Western Reserve. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1pm.
