ALMA, Michigan – The Mount St. Joseph wrestling program headed north to Alma to take part in the Mid-States Invitational over the weekend. The Lions put together a solid showing with seven wrestlers earning placer finishes in the event.
The Mount's highest finisher was junior Cahiel Linton at 141 pounds. Linton won his first two matches of the day by technical fall, outscoring his opponents by a combined score of 43-9. He dropped a tough decision to move into the consolation bracket before a pair of wins earned him a third-place finish.
Addison Breeding was the team's second-highest finisher, placing fourth at 149 pounds. Like Linton, Breeding won his first two matches before a loss moved him into the consolation bracket. He would go on to win three more matches to secure the fourth-place finish.
A pair of Lions finished fifth in their respective weight classes with Bryce Brown at 141 and Brayden Kuhling at 165. Baron Miller finished sixth at 133, while a quartet of Lions placed seventh: Dakota Phillips at 125, Dylan Fritz at 165, Javon Harrison at 149, and Noah Johnson at 174.
