CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph wrestling program wrapped up their 2026 home schedule with a dual against Wilmington on Thursday night. The Lions dominated the dual in route to a 41-12 win. It was also senior night for the Lions, as the program recognized the career of
Noah Johnson who was wrestling his final dual as a member of the Mount's wrestling program.
The Lions opened the dual knowing they had a 24 point cushion as the Quakers were forfeiting four of the ten matches.
Brayden Kuhling won by forfeit at 165lbs,
McCaden Skeens,
David Maher and
Sergio Pacheco Ortiz did the same at 184, 197 and 285 respectively.Â
The matches started with a big decision win for
Dakota Phillips at 125lbs, Phillips took down Lewis from Wilmington 4-2. At 133lbs
Baron Miller was dominant in a 22-6 tech fall victory, securing the win with a four point near fall late in the third period.Â
In the 141lb match
Cahiel Linton staged a huge comeback to get the win by fall. He was nearly pinned in the first period but was able to scramble to avoid dropping the match. From there he was behind most of the way before locking in a cradle to secure the pin and six point for his team!
The most competitive match of the night came at 149lbs, as both teams sent out what is one of their best guys in the lineup.
Xavier Woods for the Lions took down Wilmington's Asher LeBeau, Woods was able to fight off a late escape attempt by LeBeau to finish the win.Â
Wilmington was able to win the final two matches of the dual at 157 and 174, both by fall to secure their 12 points.Â
