FOSTORIA, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph women's golf team, headed north to Fostoria, Ohio for the 2024 Heidelberg Fall Invitational. They would set a pair of program records enroute to their first team win of the season.
The Lions opened with a first-round team score of 306, which bested the previous 18-hole record of 312. They followed that up with a second round total of 317 for a 36-hole total of 623, which was four strokes better than the previous record.Â
Ally Haverstraw led a quartet of Lions in the 70's on day one, with an opening round 75. Joining her in the 70s was
Debra Brogan (76),
Taylor Anderson (77) and
Amy Smith (78).Â
On day two, Haverstraw once again fired in a 75 good for a two round total of 150. Her +6 score was good enough for a second place finish overall. Smith carded a second consecutive 78 in round two, and Anderson carded a 79. The pair ended with identical +12 scores and tied for 8th in the tournament.Â
UP NEXT: The Lions will take part in the Allegheny College Kuhn Memorial Tournament next weekend at the Country Club of Meadville in Meadville, PA.Â
