NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – It was a milestone night for Mount St. Joseph volleyball, as Head Coach John Spinney secured his 500th career win in a 3-0 sweep. The Lions delivered a dominant performance on the road, sweeping Manchester University in straight sets to remain undefeated in conference play. With the 3-0 victory, MSJ remains undefeated in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) and continues to build momentum during a critical stretch of the season.
MATCH ONE: MSJ 3 – MANCHESTER 0 (25-17, 25-18, 27-25)
Mount St. Joseph came out strong, taking control early with a sharp offensive rhythm and steady defensive presence. Junior Emma Sicking led the way with 10 kills on 20 swings and added 7 digs, continuing her reliable two-way play. Senior Hannah Graves also tallied 10 kills on just 18 attempts, maintaining her efficient and consistent impact at the net.
Freshman Ava Moore guided the offense with 17 assists, while sophomore Ginger Johnson contributed 11 more to keep the Lions' attack dynamic. Sophomore Aubrey Miranda added 7 kills of her own, rounding out a balanced offensive showing.
MSJ kept the pressure on throughout the match, closing out a tight third set 27-25 to secure the sweep and hand Coach Spinney his landmark 500th victory. The Lions' composure and depth were on full display, setting the tone as the HCAC season heats up.
UP NEXT: Mount St. Joseph returns home on Wednesday, October 16th, for a 7:00 PM match up against Ohio Wesleyan. The Lions will look to extend their win streak and defend home court.
