BEREA, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph wrestling team returned to action this weekend at the BW Invite hosted by Baldwin Wallace University, earning a 10th-place team finish behind a pair of individual placers.
Junior Addison Breeding made his season debut and delivered a strong opening statement. Competing at 141 lbs, Breeding posted a 4-3 record and claimed eighth place, with all four of his victories coming by way of fall. At 285 lbs, Donovan Gayle also finished eighth after going 2-3 on the day.
Several other Lions turned in productive performances across the lineup. At 125 lbs, Dakota Phillips went 2-2 with one major decision victory. Bryce Brown matched that 2-2 effort at 133 lbs and added a major decision win of his own. At 157 lbs, Dylan Fritz collected a pair of wins to finish 2-2.
In the upper weights, Brayden Kuhling put together a 3-2 performance at 174 lbs, highlighted by one win by fall and another by major decision. The Lions continued their strong trend at heavyweight, as Jahlil Davis and Dominic Marr each finished 2-2 to join Gayle in producing another solid showing from the 285 lb group.
Mount St. Joseph will return to competition on December 6 at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
