Pair of Lions Named to HCAC's Fall All-Sportsmanship Team

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the Christopher M. Ragsdale Sportsmanship team for the fall competition in 2025.

The HCAC All-Sportsmanship Award is named in honor of former HCAC Commissioner, Christopher M. Ragsdale who served as the Commissioner from 2009 to 2018. In its inaugural season, the All-Sportsmanship team was recognized following each sports season, and the league has returned to this practice of honoring athletes outside of the conference championship season to elevate the focus placed on these deserving individuals.

The sportsmanship award was developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative in 2009. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team for each championship season include two athletes from each member institution, each of whom are selected by their schools as individuals who represent values that are associated with positive sportsmanship on and off the field/court. Nominees must have demonstrated consistently values such as fairness, respect, integrity, support and positivity in their participation in intercollegiate athletics within the HCAC.

MSJ Honorees

Carter Lindemann - Football

"Carter has exemplified what it means to be a college football player for his entire career. He always puts his best foot forward and respects his opponents, respects his opportunities, and respects the game of football."

Tyler Hopperton - MSJ Head Football Coach

Lindsey Bevak - Women's Soccer

"Lindsey is the ultimate competitor and does everything the coaching staff asks as she respects the game and the opponent, all while representing our university in a positive light.  I believe this stood out to opposing coaches and is a tremendous honor as Lindsey missed all of last season with a tough injury.  Our program values those principles above and it is why she was one of three players to get minutes in all 20 matches this season!"

Darren Gallagher - MSJ Head Women's Soccer Coach
