BETHANY, West Virginia. — Mount St. Joseph University men's volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on the road Saturday afternoon, sweeping Bethany College in straight sets. The Lions controlled the tempo from the opening serve and never looked back, earning a convincing 3-0 victory.

Mount St. Joseph set the tone early with an explosive first set, holding Bethany to just 10 points behind strong serving pressure and efficient attacking. Senior Jude Lewis led the offensive charge, recording 11 kills on 15 total attempts while committing minimal errors. Sophomore Carson Reed also played a key role in the Lions' attack, finishing with nine kills on 23 attempts and adding five service aces that helped keep Bethany out of system throughout the match.
The Lions continued to execute well in the second and third sets, maintaining control with balanced offense and disciplined defense. Sophomore Brayden Bass anchored the offense as the team's primary setter, tallying 30 assists and effectively distributing the ball to multiple attackers. Defensively, sophomore Sean Murray was a standout in the back row, recording 13 digs to help limit Bethany's scoring opportunities and extend rallies in Mount St. Joseph's favor.
With the win, the Lions build momentum heading into their next competition.
UP NEXT: Mount St. Joseph will return home to host the Lion Invitational on Saturday, January 31st. Match play is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m., with the Lions taking the court again at 2:00 p.m. as they look to continue their strong start to the season in front of a home crowd.
