Lions' men's soccer team begins season with two games in Michigan

The Lions' men's soccer squad started the 2013 season this weekend in Michigan, losing on Friday to Adrian College, 4-0; and dropping a 4-0 decision on Saturday to Albion College. The Mount, 0-2 this season, will be back in action on Sept. 4 when they host Denison University in their 2013 home opener.

Adrian College scored just 2:15 in the first game of the season, added another goal in the first half, for a 2-0 halftime advantage, and completed the scoring with two, second half goals versus the Lions. The Mount had 10 shots in the game, but just three shots on goal. Jonathan Hurley (Lexington, KY/Paul Lawrence Dunbar) and Austin Cagle (Independence, KY/Simon Kenton) each played goalkeeper for the Mount in the game.

Albion College also scored two goals in each half, as they held the Lions to just two shots in the game, for the shutout win. Hurley and Cagle once again split the goalkeeping duties. Albion had 17 shots in the game, including 10 shots on goal.
